Admission Criteria & Selection Procedure

IISWBM is one of the very Institutes to offer an Energy Management Course in India. No candidate shall be eligible for admission to the MPSM course of studies unless he/she has passed the Honours Degree examination or Bachelor's Degree in any professional course of Calcutta University or any other University/Institution considered equivalent thereto and fulfills other conditions stipulated by the University for the MPSM course.

The minimum qualification for admission to the Energy Management Course is a Bachelor's Degree (in 10+2+3 system) with Honours Science / Commerce / Art/ Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medical Science / Law or its equivalent from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta, India.

Although all graduates are eligible to apply for MPSM Courses, however, for specialization in Energy Management, preference is given to the graduates as indicated below –

Graduates with honours or equivalent in Engineering, AMIE, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics) /Bachelor in Business Administration or Bachelor/Master in Computer Applications are eligible to apply.

All engineering graduates must have a degree from AICTE/UGC approved institutes/ colleges.

The applicants for the admission to the MPSM Course are required to take CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ JEMAT/ GATE/ GMAT. The candidates short listed on the basis of cut-off-marks in the above selection tests would be required to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview at IISWBM, Kolkata, India. The final selection of candidates will be strictly on the basis of merit.

Placement Record for the Energy Management Course

All the students of MPSM course get job placement support towards the end of the 3rd semester, i.e., December-January. Reputed companies from all over India come to the Institute for conducting campus interviews. Opportunities are available for project work all over India. The dissertation/ project work in companies/ organizations is carried out as a part of 4th semester program.
